Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, enhancing muscle function, and maximizing the patient's overall performance in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the proper execution of treatment plans.
• Conduct thorough assessments using diagnostic methods to evaluate client function, including muscle, nerve, joint, and capability tests.
• Analyze the home environment to provide tailored solutions that promote client independence and make appropriate modifications as necessary.
• Administer manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and physical modalities, and educate clients in exercises and functional activities.
• Serve as a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, participating in case conferences to collectively plan and assess treatment for clients.
• Keep meticulous clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring timely documentation in compliance with agency policies.
• Instruct and empower clients and their families regarding the use of physical therapy equipment and treatments.
• Support and contribute to ongoing program development and quality improvement initiatives within the organization to enhance patient care.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to meet organizational goals and enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population that may include individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, strokes, and other debilitating conditions. Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of New Jersey in good standing.
• Current CPR certification and valid driver's license with automobile insurance.

Preferred Experience
