Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a vital role supporting students with diverse and significant needs in a specialized educational environment. As a contract paraprofessional, you'll be making a positive impact every day at a Setting 4 program, where students receive 100% of their instruction and support through special education services. Working side-by-side with caring educators and staff, you'll provide crucial assistance to students from elementary through high school. Your expertise and compassion will be key in a setting where students face some of the most complex learning and behavioral challenges.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly qualified status required:
- Either 60 college credits (transcripts must be available—not a diploma or degree)
- OR passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam (provide official scores)
- Resume and qualifying documents must be submitted for consideration
- Experience in Special Education, especially with students who demonstrate significant behavioral or physical support needs
- Willingness to assist with personal care tasks, including toileting
- Comfortable working within a Setting 4 environment supporting students with the highest level of need
- Open to working with elementary through high school-aged students (please indicate age group preference)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily instruction and activities under guidance of teaching staff
- Help foster a positive, inclusive environment for students with severe disabilities
- Assist with daily living needs, including toileting and personal care
- Maintain safety and structure throughout the school day
- Proactively support classroom routines and behavior management plans
This contract runs September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, for 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be considered for direct hire after 422 contracting hours. Compensation for this role is $20 per hour.
