Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability and restoring optimal muscle function.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to the established care plan and provide mentorship in therapeutic practices.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities, utilizing diagnostic and prognostic testing to assess muscle, nerve, and joint health.
• Deliver physical therapy services tailored to home settings as prescribed by physicians, emphasizing patient comfort and safety.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and physical agents such as traction and massage, ensuring that patients are engaged and motivated throughout their therapy.
• Evaluate and fit patients for prosthetic and orthotic devices, making recommendations for modifications when necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaboratively plan and assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding their therapy programs and device usage, promoting independence and self-management.
• Be available to assist the Physical Therapy Assistant during treatments to ensure high-quality care delivery.
• Complete additional administrative and clinical tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall objectives of Prairie Lakes PT Services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will work primarily with clients requiring rehabilitation following orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting movement. Our diverse patient population ranges from post-operative individuals to those with age-related mobility issues, each requiring a unique approach tailored to their specific needs and goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist, holding a clear standing.
• One year of experience in physical therapy, preferably within acute care or home care settings.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with auto insurance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, innovate, and effectively manage patient care decisions.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, fostering a collaborative team environment and strong patient engagement.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
