Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the individual needs of clients experiencing mood disorders, along with other mental health challenges.

• Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans that encompass their specific goals and emotional needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to the hospice care context.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders and treatment options, facilitating understanding and cooperation in the therapeutic process.

• Continuously monitor clients’ progress and modify treatment plans as needed, adapting to their evolving circumstances and needs.

• Work alongside psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

• Stay current with the latest research and trends in mental health therapies relevant to clients with mood disorders and hospice care.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client sessions and treatment outcomes in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.

• Engage actively in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and improve treatment methodologies.

• Advocate for clients by helping reduce the stigma surrounding mood disorders and ensure their mental health needs are recognized and addressed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Must hold current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.

• Minimum of three years of experience in mental health counseling, with an emphasis on mood disorders and end-of-life care.

• Proficient in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, particularly CBT and DBT.

• Strong understanding of interprofessional collaboration, with the ability to work with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers effectively.

• Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse client populations.
