TEMPORARY Lead & NON Lead Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator - Tarryall Reservoir

Position Summary Temporary position (9 months or less) - paying $20.00 - $21.00 per hour. Employment starts 04/25/2026 through 10/31/2026. Posting for Lead and Non Lead Inspector positions. Location & Responsibilities Perform boat inspector and decontaminator responsibilities at Tarryall Reservoir near Jefferson, Colorado. Work includes inspecting boats launching and leaving the reservoir for invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels, providing public outreach with printed materials, and working independently or in pairs. Early morning, evening, and weekend shifts are required. Lead Inspector responsibilities: Provide on‑job training to inspection staff, create schedules and ensure shift coverage during operational hours, collect and verify time‑keeping records for payroll, resolve staff/customer challenges with area work lead, recommend hiring/firing decisions, conduct monthly quality control assessments to ensure staff follow standard protocols, ensure accurate data entry, maintain inventory of supplies, perform basic maintenance of power washer and decontamination unit, and provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species. Early morning, evening, and weekend work is required. Basic Requirements Lead Inspector High school diploma. Good driving record and ability to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings. Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, and/or heavy equipment preferred. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent customer service experience working with the public desired. Reliable and timely. Ability to self‑motivate and work independently. Non Lead Inspector High school diploma. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or comparable work experience. Employee may be asked to camp in rustic settings and must provide own camping equipment and gear when performing biological field work.
