We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support a special project with a payment-focused organization in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for an early-career accounting candidate who brings strong accuracy, organization, and follow-through to daily work. The role will focus on handling payment-related records, maintaining reliable data in Salesforce, and assisting with core accounting activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Review and enter payment and accounting information with a high level of precision to support accurate financial records.
• Maintain and update Salesforce records so transaction details, account activity, and supporting information remain current and organized.
• Use Microsoft Excel to track activity, reconcile data, and prepare clear reporting for project needs.
• Assist with processing transactions and verifying documentation to help ensure timely and accurate payment operations.
• Compare records across systems, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues when corrections are needed.
• Support project-based accounting tasks by organizing financial data, monitoring progress, and meeting established deadlines.• Prior experience or training in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related business discipline.
• Hands-on familiarity with the Salesforce platform for entering, reviewing, or managing business records.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize data, use formulas, and maintain spreadsheets accurately.
• Understanding of payment processing activities and the importance of maintaining accurate transaction records.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies and follow established procedures carefully.
• Effective organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage routine tasks in a deadline-driven setting.
