Job Details Job Location: Audubon CP - Audubon, PA 19403 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Any Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Position Summary Responsible for overseeing the entire day-to-day operations of the kitchen, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the kitchen area meets health and safety requirements. Reports to the General Manager. Job Tasks Prepare daily production and prep list. Assign, coordinate and supervise the set-up and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize waste. Ensure all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period. Ensure kitchen staff follows cooking procedures, recipes and portions according to Menu Builds. Keep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized. Conduct inventory to minimize orders and keep food costs inline. Ensure proper inventory procedures are followed (FIFO). Place food and supply orders as directed. Receive product, verify invoice and freshness of merchandise. Ensure credits are applied where needed. Hire and train employees to company standards. Actively participate as a member of the management team. Manage kitchen staff scheduling keeping labor costs in line. Manage staffing levels throughout shift. Hold kitchen staff accountable for job performance. Smile and maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all times. Perform food preparation duties. Follow all Chickie's & Pete's service standards. Facilitate communication in kitchen to ensure food service is coordinated and timely. Act as Expeditor; check food for quality and presentation, following Menu Builds, before serving. Ensure food is handled in a sanitary manner. Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas. Ensure line is kept clean at all times. Assess and maintain all storage and food prep equipment. Complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties. Plan and execute food menu for parties, may include non-menu offerings. Keep food costs in line with budget. Additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Guest Service: Consistently able to assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the guests’ overall dining experience. Communication: Clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. Understand instructions, read written company memos and communicate when more direction or training is needed. Interpersonal Relationships: Adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Teamwork: Work together in a team; establish good working relationships to maintain a team-oriented work environment. Sales Techniques and Guest Influence: Understand all Chickie's & Pete's products and services and experience state-of-the-art sales methods. Performing General Physical Activities: Perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions requiring moderate strength, including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials; stand for long periods of time. Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Recognize problems when they arise and resolve them appropriately using good judgement, tact, and initiative per company policy and procedure. Analytical Skills: General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point-of-sale application knowledge. Quality Control and Priority Assessment: Evaluate current practices and processes; identify potential areas of conflict; initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services to guests. Time Management Skills: Manage staff workloads and delegate tasks efficiently, respecting the time of others. Language Skills: Speak, understand and write English effectively. Flexibility: Willing to assist with the workload of others when needed and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
