Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to coordinate and optimize mental health treatment plans for patients both within and outside the facility.

• Providing in-service training on mental health topics to medical, psychiatric, and security staff as needed, enhancing multidisciplinary team effectiveness.
\n
• Intervening in mental health emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
\n
• Participating in commitment hearings when required, advocating for patient care and appropriate treatment pathways.
\n
• Developing detailed and individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs and goals of each patient.
\n
• Documenting all patient interactions and treatment outcomes to maintain accurate clinical records and ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Upholding strict confidentiality standards regarding patient medical records and communication.
\n
• Verifying patients’ mental health histories, including reviewing previous psychotropic medication use to inform current treatment strategies.

• Preparing regular and special reports pertinent to patient care and progress for internal review.
\n
• Collaborating with nursing and mental health staff on post-release referrals, ensuring ongoing support for patients transitioning to outpatient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will involve engaging with a diverse range of clients, including adolescents, adults, and families facing various challenges such as mental health crises, trauma recovery, and substance use disorders. Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:
