Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, restoring muscle function, and maximizing clients' physical capabilities.
• Evaluate individual client needs through comprehensive assessments of muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities, utilizing diagnostic tools to inform treatment strategies.
• Provide in-home physical therapy services as prescribed by physicians, ensuring continuity and effectiveness of care.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring compliance with the treatment plan and quality of care.
• Administer manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and specialized treatments including the use of physical agents, while instructing clients on self-management strategies.
• Conduct periodic evaluations of client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on observed outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during case conferences to develop cohesive and effective treatment strategies.
• Prepare detailed clinical records including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Advise clients and their families on care strategies at home and the proper use of physical therapy equipment.
• Ensure timely submission of all required documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
• Participate in continuous team training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position involves working closely with a diverse population of patients ranging from post-operative recovery cases to individuals managing chronic conditions. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Strong foundation in physical therapy techniques and evidence-based practice supported by current research.
• Exceptional manual therapy skills and a demonstrated ability to develop effective exercise prescriptions.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, such as WebPT, for accurate documentation and patient tracking.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation center, home health care, or a similar setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
