TEMPORARY: Seasonal Employee- Crawford and Paonia State Parks

Position: Temporary (6 months or less) – $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Employment begins March–May through September–October. Job Overview The Colorado Department of Natural Resources seeks to support workers at Paonia and Crawford State Parks. The role will include duties in boat inspection, park maintenance, and visitor services and may require working at either park. ANS Boat Inspection Technician Staff the ANS inspection station. Conduct physical boat inspections and interview boaters. Provide information and assistance to the boating public, including brochures and education on ANS and park regulations. Perform cleaning and light maintenance of the inspection area, including facilities and grounds. Accurately record all boat inspections. Photocopy, file, and report visitor complaints when required. Other duties as assigned. Park Maintenance Technician Ensure high-quality customer service and cleanliness of public facilities. Assist visitors with information and support. Operate and maintain state‑owned vehicles and equipment. Perform carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and transport materials and supplies. Other duties as assigned. Visitor Center – Front Desk Technician Provide quality customer service to visitors. Assist with information and support requests. Handle revenues from sales of passes, permits, and items. Use computer systems to process pass and campsite sales. Answer phones and manage the drive‑up window. Clean the visitor center daily. Assist park staff with special projects. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements At least 16 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Willing to work outside during hot and inclement weather. Must be able to climb in and out of boats repeatedly for inspections. Must be able to lift 50–100 pounds repeatedly during a workday. First Aid and CPR certifications may be required. Background check may be required. Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays. This position is up to 40 hours per week and may run up to nine months. School schedules may be accommodated. Housing may be available.
