Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist I Location: Huntington Beach, CA (On-site) Assignment Type: Temp-to-Permanent Compensation: $24.00 - $25.00 / Per Hour Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k). Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Specialist I to join their accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist I will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting vendors and internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely payment processing. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline‑driven, and committed to accuracy. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently. Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation. Perform invoice matching and resolve discrepancies as needed. Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding items. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status and account issues. Prepare invoices for weekly payment processing and assist with check runs. Maintain organized accounts payable files and documentation. Generate and distribute accounts payable reports. Assist with month‑end closing activities related to accounts payable. Identify, investigate, and resolve invoice and coding discrepancies. Participate in special projects and provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience. Experience working in a high‑volume invoice processing environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
