Summary The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia's mission is to enforce the criminal laws of the United States and the District of Columbia, represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, and respond to the public safety needs of the community by leading an effective, well-coordinated law enforcement effort that contributes to the overall goal of improving the quality of life in the District of Columbia. Learn more about this agency Duties Help If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative program analysis, operational support, and facilities management services for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USAO-DC). You will work on complex assignments that evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of major offices and divisions and support the development and implementation of significant management and administrative initiatives. Typical work assignments will include: Conducting program analyses to improve support services, organizational efficiency, administrative processes, and strategic operations. Coordinating building maintenance, repairs, space planning, and telecommunications services to meet operational needs. Managing building access, parking access, keys, and related records in accordance with established policies and procedures. Serving as the point of contact for workplace safety and health matters and help ensure compliance with OSHA requirements. Administering employee transit benefits and mail services, including processing requests, maintaining records, and reviewing invoices and reimbursement claims. Assisting with the management and accountability of government property, including equipment assignment, inventory, loss reporting, and disposal. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Analyzing administrative support operations and recommending procedural improvements. Assisting with facilities maintenance, space planning, telecommunications, and building access. Maintaining accountable property, key, parking, and safety records. Supporting employee transit benefits, mail, courier, and related administrative service programs. OR Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL. B or J.D., in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Operations Management, Organizational Management or Leadership, Logistics or Supply Chain Management). Education must be obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants must possess a combination of the above-described graduate education and specialized experience such that they total 100% of the stated minimum qualifications for the GS-09 level. Only graduate education beyond the first year (18 semester hours) may be used when combining education and experience for this option. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Coordinating and evaluating administrative support programs. Analyzing operations and recommending improvements. Managing facilities, space, telecommunications, access, property, parking, safety, transit, or mail services. Preparing reports and procedures to ensure efficient and effective program operations. OR Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.; OR a LL.M., in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Operations Management, Organizational Management or Leadership, Logistics or Supply Chain Management) . Education must be obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants must possess a combination of the above-described graduate education and specialized experience such that they total 100% of the stated minimum qualifications for the GS-09 level. Only graduate education beyond the first 2 years (36 semester hours) may be used when combining education and experience for this option. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. One year at the GS- 09 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 11 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
