Benefits Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Benefits Coordinator to support the administration of employee benefits, leave programs, and payroll processes. This position plays a vital role in ensuring employees receive accurate benefits information, timely leave administration, and proper payroll deductions while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Responsibilities Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits. Coordinate new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment. Process benefit changes and ensure accurate enrollment in HRIS and payroll systems. Respond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and enrollment. Serve as the primary liaison between employees and insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators. Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies. Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, parental leave, and other company leave policies. Manage leave requests from initial notification through return to work. Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Coordinate with supervisors and employees regarding leave approvals and return-to-work requirements. Monitor intermittent leave usage and maintain required documentation. Assist with payroll processing by ensuring benefit deductions, leave adjustments, garnishments, and payroll changes are entered accurately. Review payroll reports for benefit-related discrepancies. Coordinate with payroll staff to ensure accurate employee deductions and employer contributions. Process employment status changes affecting payroll and benefits. Assist employees with payroll-related questions regarding deductions and leave pay. Maintain employee records within the HRIS. Qualifications Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration, HR, payroll, or leave administration. Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable employment regulations. Experience supporting payroll processing and benefit deductions. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll software. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of employee benefits and leave administration. Basic knowledge of payroll practices and payroll tax implications related to benefits. Ability to interpret benefit plans and employment regulations. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
