Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health status, considering their personal, social, and medical history.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices and the specific needs of each client.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, using techniques tailored to address anxiety, depression, substance use, and more.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans within our electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Refer clients to psychiatrists or other specialists when needed, facilitating a comprehensive approach to their mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Wellpath, you will support a diverse array of clients who are grappling with various challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, substance use issues, and eating disorders. You will engage with individuals from numerous backgrounds, making cultural competence and sensitivity essential to your practice. Your role will not only focus on individual therapy but also on fostering group dynamics for those who benefit from community support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New York state.
\n
• A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and culturally responsive practices.

• Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to provide calm, effective support in high-pressure situations.

• Proficient in using EHR systems and related software to maintain accurate client records.

Compensation and Benefits\n
