Summit Counseling and Therapy Group is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team specializing in pain management. In this full-time role, based in our Surgical Center in Elma, New York, you will play a pivotal part in evaluating and managing chronic pain patients, ensuring they receive timely and effective care tailored to their individual needs.

Work Environment

Our state-of-the-art Surgical Center is equipped with the latest technology to support our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services. The role requires on-site presence during the regular weekday schedule, which runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a structured work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and accurate diagnoses of patients experiencing chronic pain, utilizing clinical assessments, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory results to inform treatment decisions.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans for pain management, considering appropriate interventional procedures and pharmacological interventions.
• Prescribe medications based on patient-specific therapeutic goals and monitor their effectiveness over time, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations to assess the overall health and medication needs of patients, while educating them and their families about treatment protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care and to engage in shared decision-making for complex cases.
• Document patient interactions and treatment plans in adherence to organizational standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients suffering from chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain, among others. This role requires a compassionate approach, as many patients are dealing with long-term discomfort and emotional distress. Your ability to empathize and communicate clearly will be essential in building trust and promoting adherence to treatment plans.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Physician Assistant, with a focus on primary care or pain management preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills and organizational abilities to effectively manage patient care and record-keeping.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a performance-driven healthcare setting.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in interventional pain management, including familiarity with procedures such as nerve blocks or spinal injections.
• Demonstrated success in a team-oriented healthcare environment, contributing to multidisciplinary care approaches.
• Additional certifications related to pain management or advanced clinical skills will be regarded favorably.

Compensation and Benefits
