Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain comprehensive medical histories to develop accurate patient assessments.
• Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to inform clinical decisions.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of medical disorders and conditions particularly within the family medicine scope.
• Develop, implement, and manage personalized treatment plans for both chronic and acute health issues, including follow-up care and monitoring.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and closely monitor patient responses to treatment, making adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain detailed, precise, and organized documentation of patient records, treatments, and interactions.
• Educate patients and their families about health issues, treatment options, and preventive care measures, fostering engagement and understanding.
• Champion healthy living initiatives and preventive healthcare practices amongst patients.
• Continuously review and stay informed on the latest clinical guidelines and advancements in primary care to deliver evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of proven clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in family medicine or an outpatient setting.
• Strong foundation in primary care practices and familiarity with healthcare regulations.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective patient care and collaboration with team members.
• Ethical commitment to patient-centered care is essential.
• A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to engage positively with colleagues.
• Must be able to manage diverse patient needs with patience and professionalism.
• A DEA number is required for prescribing medications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a family health clinic or hospital-based practice.
• Knowledge of current clinical practices and standards of care in family medicine.
• Demonstrated experience with electronic health records (EHR) and familiarity with healthcare technology.
• Specialty certifications relevant to primary care are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this role ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
