In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement tailored medical care for patients in collaboration with supervising physicians. Utilizing your full scope of licensure, you will be accountable for the coordination and delivery of patient care, including performing therapeutic procedures, patient education, and seamless transitions across the care continuum.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based at a modern hospital facility in East Amherst. You will work primarily Monday to Friday, shifting at 5:00 PM, contributing to a well-structured, multi-disciplinary team. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources, encouraging the highest standards of patient care. You will join a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions play a key role in improving patient health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and review detailed medical histories to gather pertinent patient information.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging studies, utilizing these results to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and manage a range of health conditions, adeptly treating both acute and chronic illnesses within the family medicine scope.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop personalized treatment plans that address the complex needs of patients suffering from chronic and infectious diseases.
• Prescribe medications, monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Maintain organized and current patient records, ensuring meticulous documentation of patient interactions and schedules.
• Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and effective coping strategies tailored to individual scenarios.
• Proactively manage the overall health of patients by promoting preventive care, encouraging healthy lifestyle changes, and staying engaged throughout their care journey.
• Engage in daily rounds and consult with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and address any emerging health issues collaboratively.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and stay updated on the latest developments in primary healthcare practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient demographic within our community, addressing various health issues from preventative care to more acute medical conditions. Your expertise in family medicine will be crucial in understanding the multifaceted dynamics of each patient's needs, enabling you to deliver specialized care that adheres to the highest standards of practice.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Valid state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Proven experience as a PA with a focus on family medicine in a clinical setting.
• Comprehensive clinical knowledge pertaining to primary care guidelines and patient management.
• Exceptional communication skills, ensuring effective interactions with patients and healthcare team members.
• Strong ethical framework, prioritizing patient-centric care.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of clinical experience in an outpatient or hospital setting.

• Familiarity with DEA requirements and medication management.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually , commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education.
