Full-Time Physician Assistant for Pain Management in Lockport, NY

Position Overview

VitalEdge PA is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our dedicated Pain Management team in Lockport, New York. Work Environment

This position is located onsite within a hospital setting, offering a fast-paced yet rewarding work environment. You will work approximately 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with scheduled patient appointments until 5:00 PM. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipment and collaborative spaces that facilitate teamwork and communication among medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing pain and develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Perform physical examinations and utilize appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate patient conditions.
• Administer various injections, including trigger point and joint injections, to alleviate pain and improve patient mobility.
• Prescribe medications and recommend pain management therapies based on individual patient needs.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans to optimize outcomes as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on effective pain management strategies, treatment options, and preventative health practices.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case management and coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all health regulations and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adult patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and pain resulting from injury or surgery. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, emphasizing empathy and clear communication to help patients navigate their health challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current New York State Physician Assistant license.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required.
• Possession of a valid DEA and NPI number.

Preferred Experience

• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical, hospital, or emergency room setting.
• Prior experience in pain management or a related medical field is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient care standards.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate patients and collaborate with colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an attractive salary range of USD 140,000 to 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
