Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations to assess patients' pain conditions accurately.
• Prescribe and monitor both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions to manage chronic and acute pain effectively.
• Educate patients on pain management treatment options, ensuring alignment with their personal goals and health beliefs.
• Develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with physicians based on individual patient assessments and preferences.
• Care for patients experiencing complex chronic pain syndromes, implementing innovative pain relief strategies.
• Manage medication prescriptions, ensuring compliance with state regulations and conducting safety checks via the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).
• Demonstrate advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to evaluate challenging pain disorders.
• Implement comprehensive pain management plans that include advanced procedural interventions such as nerve blocks, spinal injections, and utilization of pain pumps.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role will be on patients experiencing a diverse range of pain disorders, from chronic back pain and fibromyalgia to acute post-surgical pain. You will work closely with patients of all ages, ensuring individualized care that respects their unique needs and motivations. Your expertise in pain management will significantly enhance their recovery trajectories and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school.
• An active and valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
• At least two years of clinical experience in pain management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of pain disorders and treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in prescribing appropriate medications and utilizing diagnostic tests to characterize pain sources accurately.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing patients with complex pain conditions and coordinating multi-disciplinary treatment plans.
• Hands-on experience with interventional pain management techniques.
• Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently for documentation and treatment planning.
• Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic care and establish rapport with patients effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from $150,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive salary, we offer:
