Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our modern hospital facility located in Tonawanda. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with acute and chronic pain conditions, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plans.
• Initiate and manage treatment protocols for pain management, including medication management, physical therapy referrals, and alternative therapies.
• Perform routine wellness visits, screenings, and immunizations, integrating preventive care into patient management strategies.
• Document and update patient histories meticulously to track progress and respond effectively to emerging health issues.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and MRIs, analyzing results to guide treatment changes if necessary.
• Engage in case management by coordinating with specialists and referring patients for further evaluation or intervention as needed.
• Provide education and support concerning health maintenance and disease prevention, empowering patients to take an active role in their care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including adults and children who require pain management services. This role will involve addressing complex cases and educating patients on managing their pain and improving their overall health. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Active physician assistant licensure in New York State, demonstrating compliance with all regulatory and professional standards.
• A strong clinical foundation with at least two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pain management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex medical information to patients and their families effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
