Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time Our client is a growing real estate development company focused on delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use development projects throughout Southern California. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team and support high-volume construction and development accounting activities. Key Responsibilities
- Process and code accounts payable invoices accurately and timely.
- Review, input, and reconcile construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and change orders.
- Verify invoice approvals and ensure payments align with contract terms and project budgets.
- Track commitments, contract balances, and change order activity.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close activities including AP accruals and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical AP documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Development Managers, and vendors regarding invoice status and contract matters.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Support audit requests and reporting requirements.
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within real estate development, construction, or property management.
- Experience reviewing and processing construction invoices, contracts, lien waivers, and change orders.
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project-related expenses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Yardi software strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
