Clerical Support Assistant

Reports To: Assistant Principal

Duty Days: 197 Days

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: AS02

Qualifications:

• College hours, high school diploma or GED
• Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• School office experience preferred
• General office management
• Receptionist skills
• Excellent in spelling and grammar

Primary Purpose:

Provide clerical support to assistant principal(s)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Check SAC roll, attendance, assignments typing and recording.
2. Filing setting up new files and keeping all files orderly and current.
3. Assist with reports, monies, and fines.
4. Assist with building inventories.
5. Type all correspondence, forms, etc. required by assistant principal.
6. Telephone answer, take messages, transfer calls.
7. Make appointments with parents, keep calendar up to date and keep assistant principal informed general receptionist work.
8. Assist in registration as needed.
9. Assist students and teachers when required.
10. Assist in receipt of grade scan sheets and proofing as needed.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, calculator, typewriter, printer, copier, and fax machine.

Working Conditions:

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
