Work Environment

The role is based in our modern outpatient facility located in Oyster Bay, NY. With a focus on creating a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, we value teamwork and communication amongst our healthcare professionals. You will regularly engage with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to enhance patient outcomes. The work schedule typically consists of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility required for occasional weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

As an Advanced Practice Nurse specializing in women's health, you will assume a variety of critical responsibilities, including:

• Conducting comprehensive initial patient assessments, including taking detailed histories and performing physical examinations.
• Developing, documenting, and communicating personalized care plans while following up to ensure impeccable patient preparation and screening.
• Carrying out daily rounds to monitor patient progress and ensure effective ongoing care.
• Issuing orders for medications, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic studies as necessary.
• Interpreting laboratory and imaging results, offering insights and recommendations based on findings.
• Collaborating with attending physicians and other care providers to optimize the quality of patient care.
• Recording discharge summaries and advising patients on after-care protocols to promote recovery and health maintenance.
• Engaging in continuous education to remain up-to-date with best practices and innovative techniques in nursing and women's health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be the women's health population, addressing a range of needs from preventive care to management of chronic and acute conditions. You will work closely with patients, including those dealing with issues related to reproductive health, hormone therapy, gynecological conditions, and pre/post-natal care. Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in women's health or a related specialty.
• Valid New York State licenses for both Nurse Practitioner and Registered Professional Nurse.
• Established collaborative practice agreements in compliance with New York's Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum required experience is one year in a relevant nursing field, candidates with 3-5 years of direct experience in women's health or a similar specialty area will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, as well as experience in outpatient care settings, will enhance your candidacy.
