Work Environment

As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at our home care facility, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in a supportive and dynamic environment. The role is primarily onsite, allowing for direct patient interaction and engagement. Our facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and a spacious, welcoming atmosphere designed to ensure comfort for both staff and patients. A typical workweek consists of 40 hours, with a schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, and occasional weekend or evening shifts as needed to accommodate patient care demands.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments by taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations tailored to women's health.

• Developing, documenting, and communicating individualized plans of care, ensuring thorough screening and preparation for patients.

• Initiating and performing daily patient rounds to monitor progress and address any concerns or symptoms.

• Prescribing medications and ordering laboratory tests or diagnostic procedures to support patient treatment plans.

• Interpreting laboratory results and medical tests to inform effective patient care decisions.

• Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to optimize patient care quality and outcomes.

• Documenting discharge summaries and ensuring that patients receive clear post-discharge care instructions and necessary referrals.

• Participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in women's health.

• Performing other related duties as assigned to meet the health needs of the patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on a diverse population of women, from adolescents to seniors, who may present with a wide range of health issues. You will be equipped to address both acute and chronic conditions, reproductive health, preventive care, and wellness education. Qualifications

To be considered for this rewarding position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.

• National Board Certification in a specialty area relevant to women’s health.

• A current, valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, along with a Registered Professional Nurse license.

• Experience in women's health is preferred, although candidates with relevant specialized experience may also apply.

• A collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with the New York State Department of Education.

Preferred Experience

While at least one year of relevant experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required, we highly value previous experience in women’s health, gynecological services, prenatal care, or a related field. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, patient management software, and the latest evidence-based practices is advantageous.
