As a Nurse Practitioner in our facility, you will work in an onsite hospital-based urgent care environment, allowing you to interact closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and develop thorough assessments, diagnose illnesses, and create effective treatment plans for incoming patients.
• Order diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory assessments, interpreting results to guide patient management.
• Triage incoming patients efficiently, ensuring timely care delivery and minimizing wait times to optimize patient throughput.
• Administer regional anesthesia and perform digital blocks as necessary.
• Carry out minor surgical procedures, such as wound closures, incision and drainage, and foreign body removals while ensuring appropriate levels of patient comfort and safety.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including aspirations and injections of various joints and tissues.
• Start intravenous fluids in accordance with urgent care protocols.
• Conduct closed reductions for simple fractures or dislocations, including nursemaid's elbow reductions, applying expert judgment in treatment decisions.
• Apply orthopedic devices, braces, and splints while modifying them according to patient needs.
• Manage daily operational tasks, including patient callbacks, and maintain clear communication regarding lab results during your shift.
• Serve as the lead provider, guiding day-to-day clinic operations while providing mentorship to fellow advanced practice clinicians.

As a Nurse Practitioner at Island Immediate Care Center, you will cater to a broad patient demographic, managing acute medical conditions ranging from minor injuries to more complex health issues. Our patient population spans all age groups, allowing you to demonstrate your clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills in addressing their varied healthcare needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Hold current national board certification and an active DEA registration number.
• Have a minimum of one year of experience working in an emergency room, urgent care, or similar setting.
• Exhibit a broad scope for patient consultation, demonstrating competency in treating a diverse array of conditions.
• Must be willing to work two full weekends per month, in alignment with the full-time requirements.
• Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field; a Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Ideal candidates should possess practical experience in an urgent care or emergency room environment, demonstrating the ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to the fast-paced demands of urgent care. Compensation and Benefits
