Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite at our modern surgical center in Oyster Bay, where collaboration and teamwork are at the forefront of our practice. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to accommodate evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical assessments of patients with acute and chronic health issues by gathering detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and initiating necessary diagnostic procedures.
• Analyze clinical findings and laboratory test results to establish accurate medical diagnoses, communicating findings effectively to supervising physicians when needed.
• Manage a range of common health problems and illnesses, ensuring appropriate referrals are made for cases requiring specialized care.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, ordering treatments and prescribing medications according to established protocols.
• Furnish and monitor medications, providing education to patients and their families on medication usage and health management.
• Order, evaluate, and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests, including but not limited to x-rays, blood tests, and EKGs, ensuring timely follow-up on results.
• Maintain meticulous patient records through our electronic health record (EHR) systems, documenting all assessments, treatments, and patient interactions accurately.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of health conditions, fostering a culture of health literacy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, facilitating referrals and coordination of care with other healthcare and social service providers.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and confidentiality regulations while upholding the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
