Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Advanced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic medical team at Premier Health PA Services. This full-time, onsite position is located in the scenic community of Oyster Bay, New York, and primarily takes place within a hospital environment. As a PA, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing medical care for our patients in collaboration with supervising physicians. You will work within the full scope of your licensure and be held accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and analyze medical histories to assess patients' health needs.
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging studies to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and provide treatment for various medical conditions within the family medicine scope, ensuring comprehensive management of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, taking into account patients’ unique health needs and goals, while carefully monitoring the efficacy of prescribed medications and interventions.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records, ensuring seamless documentation and continuity of patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, preventive health measures, and lifestyle modifications to promote overall well-being.
• Participate in daily rounds, collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and coordination during transitions of care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements within primary care and to enhance clinical capabilities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and the elderly, all with varying levels of health complexities. You will address ongoing health issues, acute medical conditions, and coordinate preventive care, emphasizing education and awareness to improve community health outcomes. By placing a strong focus on patient engagement and culturally competent care, you will be instrumental in improving patient satisfaction and health literacy.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Demonstrated experience working as a Physician Assistant, particularly in a family medicine or primary care setting.
• Strong foundational knowledge in health care regulations and standards of patient care.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.
• Commitment to ethical practice and the provision of patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
