Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant focused on pain management, your role will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments of patients with chronic pain, including comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations.
• Collaboratively formulating and implementing individualized treatment plans alongside supervising physicians while adhering to clinical performance standards.
• Performing essential procedures and minor interventions, such as joint injections or nerve blocks, under the guidance of attending physicians to alleviate patient discomfort.
• Providing clear and empathetic patient education regarding various medical conditions, treatment options, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications to promote overall wellness.
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical records that document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress over time, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to fibromyalgia, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain. Your approach will involve comprehensive assessments and personalized care plans to address their unique pain management needs while fostering a supportive and trusting patient-provider relationship.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• At least two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a pain management or similar setting.
• Strong clinical skills with the confidence to work independently within the standard scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• A profound commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that meets the needs of every individual.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years, candidates with prior experience in pain management, procedural skills in injections, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this position includes a competitive salary that ranges from USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
