Work Environment

This role is situated within a bustling hospital setting where you will collaborate closely with a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to pain management. Our onsite facilities are designed to support clinical excellence, featuring comprehensive medical equipment and access to multidisciplinary care teams. You will work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, contributing to a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnose patients experiencing chronic pain, utilizing your clinical training to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Identify appropriate candidates for interventional procedures and manage ongoing medication plans to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Prescribe medication in alignment with therapeutic goals and engage in meaningful discussions with patients and their families about treatment options.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose acute and chronic illnesses based on a combination of clinical findings, laboratory tests, and imaging reports.
• Monitor patient health status effectively, implementing and adjusting treatment plans as necessary, with oversight from a supervising physician.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure holistic patient care, participating in case discussions to enhance care strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve patients suffering from a range of chronic pain conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders. Your approach will focus on understanding each patient’s unique experience of pain and developing comprehensive management strategies tailored to their individual needs. This role is particularly impactful as you will work with underserved populations, ensuring they receive appropriate and effective pain management interventions.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current active licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• A minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in a relevant healthcare setting, specifically in pain management or related fields.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a collaborative medical environment dealing with chronic pain patients is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and treatment plans efficiently.
• Knowledge of interventional pain management techniques and procedures is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The Physician Assistant role offers a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
