Work Environment

The role is based in a dynamic hospital setting, where you will be a key member of our multidisciplinary Pain Management team. This team consists of experienced physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare specialists working collaboratively to address complex chronic pain issues. As a Physician Assistant, you will work directly with patients to deliver hands-on care within a supportive and state-of-the-art medical facility equipped with the latest medical technology and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth patient assessments, gathering comprehensive medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests to formulate accurate diagnoses.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in partnership with supervising physicians, ensuring each plan caters to the specific needs of the patient for optimal recovery and pain relief.
• Perform clinical procedures such as joint injections and nerve blocks under the supervision of attending physicians, ensuring adherence to safety and best practices.
• Educate patients regarding their conditions, available treatment options, and effective lifestyle adjustments, thereby empowering them to take charge of their health.
• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up procedures, ensuring seamless communication across the care team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with patients experiencing chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, neuropathy, back pain, and post-operative pain. This role involves not only managing pain effectively but also understanding the multifaceted nature of pain management, which includes psychological and emotional components, providing a compassionate and comprehensive care experience.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical skills, with a strong ability to work independently within the scope of medical practice.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
