Work Environment

This role will be conducted onsite at our surgical center, providing an engaging and collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and innovation. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and therapy specialists, who are all committed to the same goal: optimizing patient outcomes. Our work schedule is designed to support a healthy work-life balance, with set hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with acute and chronic pain conditions, utilizing advanced assessment techniques.
• Order necessary imaging studies and interpret the results to inform treatment decisions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including non-narcotic medication management and recommendations for physical therapy.
• Schedule and facilitate interventional procedures as indicated, ensuring seamless coordination with ancillary services.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in electronic health systems, documenting findings, diagnoses, and treatment progress.
• Educate patients and their families about pain management options and self-care techniques to promote understanding and compliance.
• Engage actively in team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and improve patient care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will care for a diverse patient population dealing with various pain-related issues, from post-operative pain to chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. Our patients come from a wide demographic range, which requires sensitivity and adaptability in approach. You will play a crucial part in educating them about managing their conditions and positively influencing their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in pain management or a similar specialty.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting physical examinations, and the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Capacity for independent decision-making as well as collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Experience

• Superb ability to manage complex patient cases with empathy and attention to individual needs.
• Experience in pain management is a strong plus, especially familiarity with non-narcotic pain interventions.
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems and computerized patient management systems for documentation and patient tracking.

Compensation and Benefits

Community Care Physicians offers a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
