Parkland Health and Hospital PC is seeking dedicated and experienced Full-Time Nurse Practitioners to join our primary care team in Oyster Bay, New York. As a vital member of our healthcare community, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of health conditions while promoting wellness and preventative care practices. Your expertise as an advanced practice registered nurse will help shape the primary care experience for our patients.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at our outpatient office, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our team comprises 5 MDs and 5 additional Nurse Practitioners, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere where healthcare professionals can share insights and learn from one another. You will be provided with the necessary tools and resources to ensure that you can deliver the highest quality of care to our patient population.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner at Parkland Health and Hospital PC, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and reviewing medical histories to assess patient health.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood tests and X-rays to aid in diagnosis.
• Diagnosing acute and chronic health conditions, formulating treatment plans, and prescribing medications as necessary.
• Providing patient education on health conditions, medications, and wellness strategies to empower patients in their healthcare journey.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop integrated care plans and monitor patient progress.
• Promoting preventive health practices and community health education initiatives to improve overall health outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population, focusing on individuals seeking primary care services. Your role will involve engaging with patients of various ages and backgrounds, including those with chronic illnesses and acute health challenges. By providing empathetic and patient-centered care, you will play a crucial role in helping patients navigate their health decisions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing, with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies.
• A valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license, with certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
• A DEA number for prescription management.
• Proven clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in settings such as clinics, hospitals, or emergency rooms.
• In-depth knowledge of patient care regulations and ethical standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to patient education and support.

Preferred Experience

We value experience that aligns with primary care, acute care, and chronic disease management. Compensation and Benefits
