Employment Litigation Associate

A well-established Southern California law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its growing Labour & Employment practice in Orange County. This is an opportunity to work directly with privately held businesses across a wide range of industries, handling sophisticated employment matters from pre-litigation counselling through to trial. The team advises on the full spectrum of workplace disputes, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, class actions and PAGA matters. Unlike insurance panel practices, the firm represents clients directly, allowing attorneys to develop deeper client relationships, work on complex strategic issues, and maintain a manageable caseload. Responsibilities Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and trial-related documents Manage and defend discovery Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations and arbitrations Assist with class action and PAGA litigation Provide day‑to‑day advice and counselling to business clients Work closely with partners and clients on sophisticated employment matters Requirements 2–10 years of employment litigation experience preferred Experience handling California employment claims, including wage & hour disputes Strong legal writing, research and analytical skills Experience drafting dispositive motions and discovery Ability to work directly with clients and manage matters independently Newly admitted attorneys with substantial employment law clerk or summer associate experience will also be considered The Opportunity Established and respected firm with a strong market presence Sophisticated employment litigation practice Transparent bonus structure and business development incentives Strong mentoring and professional development opportunities Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) match, medical, dental and vision coverage Compensation $165,000–$205,000 base salary, plus performance and origination bonuses.
