Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring the effectiveness and appropriateness of therapeutic approaches.

• Perform comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments to better understand client backgrounds, challenges, and treatment needs.

• Design and implement customized coping strategies and social skills training, focusing on anger management and risk reduction techniques to assist clients in overcoming their mental health challenges.

• Support caregivers and families in managing in-home behavioral challenges through skill-building in decision-making processes.
\n
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan) notes, to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings and provide mandatory weekly updates regarding client progress and any emerging challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to work with a diverse range of adults experiencing various mental health challenges. Our clients may include individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other significant life stressors. You will have the opportunity to engage with clients from different backgrounds, making each therapeutic interaction enriching and unique.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in New York is mandatory.

• Completion of Clinical Mental Health Training.

• Experience in crafting treatment plans, setting treatment goals, and conducting initial assessments.

• Proficient in the use of DSM-V for diagnosis and assessment.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous field experience working with adults in various clinical settings.

• Familiarity with different counseling methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Gestalt Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Response.

• Experience in crisis intervention techniques is highly preferred.

• Hands-on knowledge of providing positive behavior support strategies.
