About ourBRIDGE
ourBRIDGE is the only non-faith based organization in Charlotte and surrounding areas
that works with refugee and immigrant children and their families. Our trauma-informed
afterschool and summer programs are based on our four core values of LERD (Love,
Education, Respect, and Diversity), and it is designed to support ELL (English
Language Learners) students as they adjust to their new home in the United States. We
focus on their English language acquisition, socio-emotional wellbeing and cultural
appreciation and pride. At ourBRIDGE, students receive homework help, English
tutoring, opportunities to engage in a culturally relevant curriculum that is developed in-
house and emphasizes hands-on learning. Our students and their families are a part of
a welcoming, loving, and healing-centered community that places an importance on
their cultural identity. Our staff is as diverse as the families we work with.

Staff Accountant (On-site)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Charlotte,
NC. This position is based full-time at our office located at 3400 Shamrock Drive. The
successful candidate will perform bookkeeping, assist with grant reporting, and support
the Director of Finance in refining accounting procedures and meeting critical deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
● Process and record daily financial transactions, including cash and credit card
activity, within QuickBooks Online.
● Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for monthly federal grant
reimbursement requests for multiple grants, ensuring timely and accurate
submissions.
● Collaborate with program managers to track, review, and align grant-funded
expenses with approved budgets and assist with budget-to-actual variance
reporting.
● Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal financial controls to ensure audit
readiness in compliance with federal guidelines (e.g., 2 CFR 200, Uniform
Guidance), organizational policies, and grant requirements.
● Support the Director of Finance in the monthly and annual financial closing
process.
● Support the Director of Finance in streamlining accounting procedures.
● Help ensure all key financial deadlines are met.
● Assist the Director of Finance with preparing the annual organization-wide
budget and individual grant project budgets.
● Provide support for monthly payroll processing via Paychex, ensuring accurate
and timely payment.
● Attend all meetings and training sessions as required by federal grantors.

Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
● Proven experience entering transactions in QuickBooks accounting software.

● Strong organizational and time-management skills.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective interaction with staff
at all levels.
● Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial
formulas/modeling).

Preferred Qualifications
● Non-profit accounting experience.
● Federal grant reporting experience.
● Experience using a payroll company’s timekeeping and payroll processing
software (e.g., Paychex).

Location Work Type
This is a full-time, 100% on-site position (Monday–Friday) located at our office in
Charlotte, North Carolina (3400 Shamrock Drive).
