Director, Oncology Forecasting (Global Pan-tumor)

Merck seeks a Director of Strategic Forecasting to lead development of pan-tumor oncology product forecasts, partnering across market research, data science, and commercial teams. The role combines individual contribution with team leadership to deliver forecasting insights that inform marketing and business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Determine and implement appropriate forecasting modeling approaches, tools, and techniques for oncology assets and indications
• Lead forecasting cycles aligned with enterprise processes and partner with marketing, market research, data science, and payer analytics teams
• Develop and mentor a team of strategic forecasters, fostering continuous learning and professional development
• Engage closely with business partners on forecast inputs, outputs, and insights; communicate results to stakeholders
• Drive strategic problem-solving across digital and commercial functions to address business priorities and inform decision-making

Requirements

• 8-10+ years delivering complex analytical projects in pharmaceutical/biotech using market research or large databases
• Demonstrated expertise in forecast modeling methodologies and extraction of forecasting insights
• Direct line management experience with ability to build and develop high-performing teams
• Deep understanding of oncology, pharmaceutical, or vaccine business areas
• Strong cross-functional leadership and consultative skills in matrixed organizations
• Undergraduate degree required; MBA or advanced degree in engineering, statistics, pharmacy, or related field preferred
