Quick Facts Location: Brattleboro, VT Start Date: 05/29/2026 End Date/Duration: Permanent Shift: Day shift (varies, typical hours) Hours/week: Full-time Employment Type: Permanent License/Certs: MD or DO, VT license preferred (or eligible) Experience: Prior hospitalist experience preferred Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (equivalent to a competitive annual salary of $300,000–$350,000) Pay package discussed upon application Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement savings plan with employer contribution Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays CME allowance and paid CME days Malpractice insurance coverage Life and disability insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Relocation assistance available Robust referral bonus program What You’ll Do Provide direct inpatient medical care including admissions, rounds, and discharges Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions Ensure patient-centered, evidence-based care delivery Collaborate with specialists, primary care, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other team members Coordinate care plans and facilitate smooth patient transitions Interpret diagnostic tests and act accordingly Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response situations Manage ventilator support for critical patients Participate in clinical rounds, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives Educate patients and families about diagnoses and treatment plans Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards What You Need Medical degree (MD/DO) and valid license in Vermont or eligible for licensure At least 1 year of hospitalist experience preferred Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment Not open to candidates who commute more than 1 hour, visa candidates, or those seeking locum positions or work in conjunction with other roles About the Assignment Join a dedicated hospital team providing compassionate, comprehensive inpatient care at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, a community-focused facility committed to excellence.
