Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families, identifying strengths and challenges related to emotional, social, and environmental factors impacting their health and well-being.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based social work interventions, adapting strategies to meet individual patient needs.

• Facilitate effective discharge planning by collaborating with healthcare teams, consulting physicians, and third-party payers to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
\n
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on coping strategies related to illness, treatment options, and life adjustments, enhancing their capacity for self-management.
\n
• Utilize individual, group, and family therapy modalities, employing crisis intervention techniques as necessary to address immediate patient needs.
\n
• Function as an expert resource for other clinical staff, offering guidance and participating in collaborative case discussions to improve patient outcomes.
\n
• Engage in clinical evaluations of oncology patients, assessing their mental health status concerning depression and anxiety, and providing short-term counseling support.
\n
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent after-hour needs, ensuring patients receive timely support outside regular clinical hours.
\n
• If clinically required, facilitate involuntary examinations per the Baker Act, liaising with relevant facilities for patient transfers.
\n
• Present educational sessions and workshops, showcasing expertise in psychosocial oncology to enhance the knowledge base within the organization and the wider community.
\n
• Engage in community service initiatives to promote local resources and services available for cancer survivors, strengthening community ties and support systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves diverse populations experiencing a range of health-related psychosocial issues, including but not limited to, individuals coping with cancer and chronic illnesses, and their families. You will provide culturally sensitive support and therapy to enhance the resilience and coping strategies of these patients during challenging times.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.

• Current Washington State LICSW license, or eligible for licensure.
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing individual and group therapy in clinical settings, particularly in healthcare environments.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

• Proficient in utilizing electronic medical record systems and telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of post-licensure clinical social work experience.

• Experience in oncology social work, crisis intervention, or behavioral health settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is competitive, set between USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
