Work Environment

This Nurse Practitioner role is performed onsite in our outpatient office, where our team collaborates closely in a state-of-the-art facility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient assessments by taking detailed medical histories and performing thorough physical examinations.
• Develop, document, and communicate individualized care plans, ensuring patients are prepared for screening processes and any subsequent treatments.
• Perform daily rounds, monitoring patient status and adjusting care as necessary in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Write and manage orders for medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging, ensuring adherence to care protocols.
• Analyze laboratory and diagnostic test results to inform and refine patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes.
• Prepare discharge summaries, write prescriptions, and make referrals to specialists as needed for follow-up care.
• Educate patients on post-discharge care instructions, fostering a clear understanding of their health management.
• Participate in additional responsibilities as required, with all noted duties seen as essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner in this role will primarily focus on women's health, diagnosing and managing a wide range of health issues related to reproductive health, prenatal care, menopausal management, and regular wellness checks. Our client demographic includes women from diverse backgrounds, necessitating cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively about health concerns.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• National Board Certification in Women’s Health or a related specialty is required.
• Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Texas.
• Proficiency in establishing and maintaining collaborative practice agreements, aligning with the Texas Nurse Practitioner legislation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on women's health preferred.
• Experience in an outpatient setting is advantageous, particularly in a multidisciplinary care environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and telehealth technologies is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
