Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive urgent care services, including physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Utilize state-of-the-art medical technology by performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs.
• Efficiently triage incoming patients, managing flow and prioritizing care to minimize wait times while providing high-quality attention.
• Conduct minor surgical procedures within the clinic, such as wound closures, foreign body removals, and other urgent interventions.
• Administer IV fluids and perform closed reductions for minor fractures and dislocations, ensuring a seamless approach to urgent care.
• Act as the lead provider during each shift, overseeing day-to-day operations, while mentoring and supporting other advanced practice clinicians on best practices.
• Maintain thorough communication with patients and their families, providing education on treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Review and manage patient callbacks, lab results, and ensure all clinical tasks are completed efficiently.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a wide variety of patients, from children to adults, encompassing a range of urgent medical needs. Working closely with the school community allows you to directly impact the health and well-being of students, enhancing access to care right where it is most needed. As part of your daily routine, you will not only treat acute illnesses and injuries but also play a vital role in preventive health, guiding patients in making informed healthcare decisions.

Qualifications

• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida, along with Nurse Practitioner licensure and national certification.
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field is required.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an emergency, urgent care, or similar healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to provide care across diverse patient demographics, including adaptations for children and adolescents.
• Current and unrestricted medical and controlled substance licenses to practice in Florida.
• Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a school health environment or pediatric urgent care setting.
• Familiarity with digital documentation systems and medical charting tools to optimize patient care workflows.
• Advanced training or specialization in a relevant area of urgent care.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
