HR Generalist, Leaves and Accommodations Job Number: 26168 Functional Area: Human Resources Department: Human Resources School Area: VP for Human Resources Pay Range Minimum: $90,000 Pay Range Maximum: $120,000 Employment Type: Full-Time Employment Category: Exempt Schedule: Pay Grade: 9 Posting Description HR GENERALIST, LEAVES AND ACCOMMODATIONS, Human Resources - Disabilities and Medical Leave Services, will be responsible for advising and counseling MIT’s employees and managers on complex leave laws and policies, workers’ compensation, handling requests for accommodations under ADA and the interactive dialogue, and processing long-term disability claims for assigned departments, labs, centers, and institutes. Partner and collaborate with client areas to develop relationships and to understand the organizational structure and departmental needs. Work closely with MIT’s vendors, including Workpartners, Cannon Cochrane Management Services Inc., and Prudential. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of equivalent benefits, leave administration programs, accommodation or HR generalist experience; experience administering policies and legal compliance, including in-depth understanding of FMLA, MA PFML, Workers’ Compensation, Long-Term Disability and ADA required. Must have experience in full life cycle case management in all the areas above; ability to understand and analyze complex policies, procedures, and practices required; experience with researching compliance issues and summarizing recommendations; demonstrated ability of independent decision making and judgment; strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; be able to relay complex information in understandable ways to those without an understanding of laws and policies; proven experience and excellence in customer service and program administration; meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing demands and follow through on tasks despite interruptions required, meet critical deadlines relating to pay and other requirements; working on a team, must demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and accountability providing support to and collaborating with colleagues; and advanced Excel skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and the ability to learn software systems as applicable to MIT. PREFERRED: Experience with SAP; experience with data gathering, data analysis, and data management; and Leave Management Specialist Certification. Required on campus at a minimum of two days per week; additional days may be required (including quarterly all HR staff meetings) for DSMLO Office coverage for walk-ins, in person meetings with client areas, in person training, collaborating with HR Staff, and other DSMLO team members. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lloyd's Register Group
