Work Environment

This position is designed to be wholly remote, allowing our counselors the flexibility to support patients from the comfort of their homes. Despite the physical distance, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, social workers, and therapy aids. Utilizing telehealth technologies, you will maintain strong communication and collaboration, ensuring that clients receive holistic and coordinated care tailored to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health issues, documenting findings and treatment plans according to department protocols.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers to convey patient progress and address needs and concerns, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including assessment notes and progress updates, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with team members in drafting effective treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions and strategies to facilitate positive outcomes.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling using therapeutic techniques catered to emotional and behavioral challenges faced by patients.
• Assist clients in developing discharge plans and coordinate care with other professionals, ensuring a smooth transition to necessary services in the community.
• Engage and support families and caregivers as part of the treatment process, including family consultations and education regarding mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients range from diverse backgrounds and may present with various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and other behavioral health concerns. As a counselor, your focus will be on tailoring interventions to meet the distinct needs of each individual, fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to healing and growth.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Professional Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential issued by the state of Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of mental health treatment methodologies.
• Proven ability to apply evidence-based practices and deliver effective mental health services to clients.
• Strong organizational skills, with the capability to work independently and manage multiple caseloads efficiently.
• Proficiency in using technology and software for clinical documentation and communication, including MS Office and telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience working within a community health clinic setting and familiarity with care coordination will be given preference. An understanding of telehealth best practices will also be advantageous in this role as we continue to adapt our services to meet client needs.
