An accounts payable specialist is responsible for processing various overhead invoices, preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations. This position requires good communication skills within entire organization, accounting department and outside companies. Manage time effectively to get work completed on schedule and ability to prioritize workload.

The specifics of the role include:

• Processing accounts payable invoices
• Preparing and entering month end journal entries for various key vendors and credit card statements
• Performing various statement reconciliations
• Acting as back up for other accounts payable staff as necessary
• Providing assistance to AP Manager as requested

Requirements include:

• Associates Degree in Accounting and/or 3 years' experience in accounts payable.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills including good phone etiquette and the ability to communicate with all levels and areas of the organization.
• Fast learner with the ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment, both as a team player and independently.
