Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver personalized individual therapy sessions in the client's home or group therapy within our outpatient center, focusing on immediate needs and promoting positive outcomes.

• Implement therapeutic techniques to address and reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression while fostering anger management and coping strategies.
\n
• Enhance the decision-making skills of both youth and their caregivers, equipping them with effective tools to navigate in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals across various disciplines to ensure a well-rounded approach to treatment.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, to ensure compliance and facilitate continuity of care.
\n
• Actively participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations that align with our treatment goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves children and adolescents aged 3-20 years who present with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and require tailored therapeutic interventions that consider their unique experiences and needs. By working closely with families, you will help create a nurturing environment that supports children's growth and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is mandatory.
\n
• A valid and unrestricted LMFT license issued in California.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (ideally between 4 PM – 7 PM), with weekend flexibility considered a plus.
\n
• Experience providing positive behavior support and working collaboratively with children and families.
\n
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to travel for home visits.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
\n
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic models and practices.
\n
• Bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese are strongly desirable, enhancing our ability to serve a diverse client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
