Speech Language Therapist - SLP
Unlock Communication Throughout Life in Scenic Washington – Become a Speech Language Therapist with Us
Imagine a career that not only gives voice to purpose but transforms it into reality. As a Speech Language Therapist in one of Washington's most picturesque cities, your role transcends the boundaries of treating communication and swallowing challenges. You'll empower individuals to rediscover their voices, regain their confidence, and foster meaningful connections — supporting everyone from toddlers mastering their first sounds to older adults striving for independence.
In this dynamic position, you'll have a rare chance to make a profound impact across various age groups in a setting that artfully combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient assistance. Whether your passion lies in nurturing the speech of young children, tackling adult neurogenic communication struggles, or guiding seniors through cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you'll find joy and diversity in your practice here.
Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
Create tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing enhancement.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
Educate patients and families to facilitate progress beyond the therapy sessions.
Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity in care.
Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Commit to continual professional development through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification not yet achieved.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, coupled with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Ability to modify therapy methods to suit the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of clients.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols.
Competitive salary reflective of experience.
Flexible work schedules promoting work-life integration and varied patient caseloads.
Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offerings.
Professional development assistance with continuing education reimbursement.
A collaborative work atmosphere placing emphasis on quality care and continuous learning.
In this role, you won't merely be providing speech therapy — you'll join a community dedicated to vocal restoration, enhancing communication, and cultivating joy in every interaction. You'll collaborate with colleagues who support one another like family in a culture that prioritizes cooperation over competition. Each patient has their own narrative, and we trust in your expertise to help craft and communicate those stories effectively.
Embrace the unmatched vibe of life in Spokane, Washington — a stunning blend of innovation and welcoming charm. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this city offers a unique blend of outdoor adventures, cultural richness, and significant professional opportunities. Explore the lush parks, enjoy stunning riverside strolls, or immerse yourself in the vibrant arts scene that pulses through the city.
Families will find themselves enjoying weekends filled with outdoor activities, from ski slopes in winter to beautiful hiking trails in summer, alongside a thriving local food scene that caters to every palate, featuring an array of culinary delights from food trucks to upscale dining. Spokane's creative environment hums with the spirit of community, reflected in lively festivals and vibrant music events throughout the year.
Moreover, for professionals, the benefits extend beyond the lifestyle: a reasonable cost of living along with strong opportunities within a booming healthcare sector create a fertile ground for your career prospects to flourish.
Whether you're embarking upon your career journey or are a ready-to-transition clinician, this location offers the ideal setting to grow both personally and professionally.
We are in search of a Speech Language Therapist who embodies not only skill but also compassion. Someone who, when witnessing a shy child, sees a world full of expression; who, when listening to the hesitant words of a stroke survivor, recognizes the strength of the human spirit.
Your background might center on pediatrics wishing to expand into adult therapy — or perhaps you are a neuro-specialist eager to incorporate facets of early intervention in your practice. No matter your specific interest, if you are filled with passion to serve and lead with heart, we would love to welcome you to our team.
If you understand that speech goes beyond mere sounds and that therapy is about building trust, and if you find joy in the laughter that accompanies the language, then this could be the next meaningful chapter in your career.
Join us in a community that cherishes communication, connection, and the wisdom of starting anew. Apply now to lend your voice to our team and help others discover theirs.
