Manual Machinist (Night Shift)

Manual MachinistWe are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to operate a variety of machines including a Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL), Vertical Boring Mill (VBM) and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM).Responsibilities:Identifies the type of material being used and corrects or modifies tooling call-outs, offsets, speeds and feeds to allow for variations in the material. Performs the majority of machining operations needed to complete the part.Reading of blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of stock required.Observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.Maintain a safe work environment and keep work area clean and organized.Conduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements.Maintain traceability on all parts.All other duties as assigned by your manager*This job description is a summary of the primary job scope and should not be assumed as an all-inclusive description*Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.Turbine machining is preferred.5 years' experience in machiningAbility to apply basic written and verbal communication skills.Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders and drawings.Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills.Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate.Ability to follow directions and procedures.Work Conditions:This position is performed in a shop environment.Proficient in the use of hand and power tools at a speed necessary for successful job performance.Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling.Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs.Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.Work in both cold and hot climates.Work in or near industrial hazards.Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet demands of the role.Ada Job Requirements:Reasonable accommodations will be made to ensure that the essential functions of the job can be performed and not hinder the employee's performance due to physical, mental, or emotional disability.Equal Employment Opportunity:Allied Power Group is an equal opportunity workplace.
