Clayton Services is searching for a Manual Machinist to join a thriving industrial company in the North Houston area. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating manual machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision mechanical components according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $25.00-$32.00/hour plus OT

Manual Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify mechanical components.
• Machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements.
• Determine proper machining sequences, tooling, speeds, feeds, and methods needed to complete assigned work.
• Measure and inspect components before, during, and after machining operations.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform incoming and final inspections of machined components.
• Identify worn, damaged, or out-of-spec components and determine appropriate machining or repair methods.
• Select and maintain appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling.
• Maintain manual machines, tooling, equipment, and work areas.
• Safely move and handle materials and components throughout the shop.
• Document completed work and component conditions as required.
• Identify equipment or quality concerns and communicate issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

Manual Machinist Skills and Abilities:

• Strong manual machining and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to hold required dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to independently determine appropriate tooling and machining methods.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work with a variety of metals and industrial components.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Manual Machinist Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manual machining experience required.
• Mechanical or technical experience required.
• Experience machining, repairing, or rebuilding industrial or heavy mechanical components preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, oil & gas, or similar environments is a plus.
