Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage 

I am working with a well-regarded law firm that is seeking a Associate Attorney to join its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 3+ years of commercial litigation experience who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility, work on sophisticated matters, and build their practice within a collaborative and high-performing litigation team.

The firm represents clients in a wide range of complex business disputes and is particularly interested in candidates with experience in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation , although this background is not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other substantive pleadings
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
• Collaborate with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation when applicable
• Practice before both state and federal courts

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Washington
• 3+ years of commercial litigation experience
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Ability to manage assignments independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Experience

• Insurance coverage and bad faith litigation
• Deposition, oral advocacy, and trial experience
• State and federal court litigation
• Experience with a large law firm or respected litigation boutique
• Additional licensure in Oregon, Idaho, and/or Alaska is highly desirable
