Work Environment

Situated in the heart of Fredericksburg, our rehabilitation center fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, where physical therapists work alongside other healthcare professionals including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nursing staff. The facility is designed to create an engaging and comforting atmosphere for patients, prioritizing their mental and emotional well-being during the physical recovery process. Scheduled work hours typically fall between Monday to Friday, with morning shifts starting at 7 am or 8 am, and the latest shift ending at 4 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee customized treatment plans based upon thorough assessments and evaluations of patient conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, ensuring each patient's treatment strategy is effectively implemented and adjusted as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment strategies, recovery expectations, and the vital role of rehabilitation in their healing journey.
• Conduct in-service training sessions for facility staff to enhance the understanding of physical therapy services and promote interdisciplinary cooperation.
• Document patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in weekly Care Plan Meetings to provide updates on patient progress and contribute valuable insights for holistic patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services primarily cater to patients in skilled nursing facilities who require rehabilitation following surgical procedures, traumatic injuries, or chronic illnesses. You will engage with older adults facing mobility challenges, post-operative patients working on regaining function, and individuals recovering from a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Your role will significantly influence their recovery outcomes, allowing them to achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Valid Physical Therapist license in good standing for the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety in emergency scenarios.
• Solid understanding of federal and state regulations regarding therapy services and patient care.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to facilitate effective interactions with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience
