Key Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist will have a range of responsibilities designed to support patient recovery, which includes:

• Directing tailored physical therapy treatment aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and improving muscle function within each client's capabilities, following the established plan of care.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the accurate implementation of treatment protocols and the highest standards of care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' physical function, utilizing diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Assessing the client's rehabilitation needs through home environment evaluations, making actionable recommendations to enhance independence.
• Administering prescribed therapy services directly in accordance with physicians' orders, employing techniques such as manual therapeutic exercises, massage, and application of therapeutic modalities.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in case conferences to formulate comprehensive treatment plans, while actively contributing insights based on clinical observations.
• Monitored compliance with treatment plans, documenting progress and responses directly into clinical records, including initial evaluations and discharge summaries.
• Providing educational guidance to clients and families regarding therapy programs and the proper usage of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
• Engaging in continuous professional learning and development, keeping abreast of new therapy techniques and approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on treating adult and elderly clients who may be recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or seeking rehabilitation after injury. Our clients often experience varying degrees of physical limitations, and the Physical Therapist will be crucial in designing and implementing effective interventions that address issues such as mobility, strength, and pain management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that clients receive individualized and compassionate care throughout their therapy journey.

Qualifications

To successfully fill this role, we are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting.
• Current and valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for home visits as necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an acute care or home care setting, as well as those who have previously supervised support staff. Familiarity with electronic health records and rehabilitation equipment is also an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
